Building Stronger Communities

AroundAbout Community Magazines, Inc. (ACM) began franchise operations in 2002 in Woodstock, Georgia.  ACM franchises are hyper-local, direct-mailed monthly magazines, each with a mission of “building a stronger community.”

 ACM’s franchise operation came about as a direct result of the phenomenally successful flagship publication, AroundAbout-TowneLaker, which began publishing in 1996.  AroundAbout-TowneLaker was the only magazine of its kind to feature positive and relevant information about the community it served.  It soon became the “go-to” publication for the residents within its readership area.  Expanding into other communities was a natural and welcomed development.

 Today, ACM is proud to have eight North Metro Atlanta titles in its franchise system, serving the communities of Woodstock, Towne Lake, Acworth, Sixes, Canton, North Fulton, East Cobb and Cumming.  Each AroundAbout title is committed to building a stronger community through its hyper-local and relevant content while helping its customers grow their businesses.  In tandem with each AroundAbout magazine is a dynamic web presence, creating a true, dual-medium product, for both readers and advertisers alike.  The web presence is truly innovative in that it engages and encourages interaction and participation with readers and advertisers while also providing real-time information that complements the print product. 

 The founders and associates of ACM are heavily involved in their communities – a key component to the success of the ACM concept.  Franchise owners should be well connected, and involved in their communities, in order to create a successful hyper-local community magazine.
